Growing Principals

We help Texas public school districts develop outstanding principals who are ready to lead.

Districts recognize they must do more to prepare principals to be exceptional school leaders.

We help districts better identify, prepare and support current and future principals. As a result of the investments we’ve made, 100 percent of districts surveyed rated their leadership pipeline as stronger after partnering with Holdsworth for at least two years.

We shouldn’t just be waiting on people to apply for positions. We should be recruiting those leaders and getting them into that leadership pipeline so that they can take the next step. In the end, we’re going to have better-prepared leaders much sooner than if we had just sat back and waited.

DISTRICT IMPACT SPOTLIGHT

Waco ISD

Growing teachers into principals

From caterpillar to butterfly. That’s how Josie Gutierrez describes the transformation underway at Waco ISD, thanks in part to their participation in one of Holdsworth's leadership programs. In Holdsworth, districts work to build a pipeline of aspiring principals who are ready to step into school leadership positions when they arise. Each district goes about it in their own creative ways.

It’s not just tweaking. It doesn’t look like anything we’ve done before.

At Temple ISD, we had cleared our bench of assistant principals and were struggling with how to build up our leadership pipeline. The things we learned at Holdsworth will help us create a systemic way to grow and sustain our bench of high-quality leaders.
